What two places do self-lubricating bearings need to be checked more in the process of operation

It is becoming increasingly important to check the condition of machines in operation and prepare a thorough inspection plan. Among them, the bearing is the key, because it is the more important rotating part in all the machines. Status monitoring is an important part of preventive maintenance. Early detection of bearing damage to avoid equipment downtime during unplanned maintenance due to bearing damage. However, not everyone is equipped with such advanced equipment. In this case, the machine operator or maintenance engineer must be highly alert to “fault signals” of bearings, such as temperature and vibration, etc. The following is a small edition of Hangzhou self-lubricating bearings to explain the inspection measures in the operation process of self-lubricating bearings.

A, touch

The bearing temperature can be measured regularly with the help of a thermometer, which can accurately measure the bearing temperature and display it as degrees Celsius. The important bearing means that when it breaks, it will cause the equipment to stop, so such bearings should be equipped with a temperature detector. Under normal circumstances, the bearing will naturally heat up after lubrication or re-lubrication, and can last for one to two days. High temperature usually indicates that the bearing is in an abnormal condition. High temperature is also harmful to lubricants in bearings. Sometimes bearing overheating can be attributed to bearing lubricants. If the bearing is operated at a temperature of more than 125 degrees Celsius for a long time, the life of the bearing will be shortened. Causes of bearing high temperature include: insufficient or too much lubrication, impurities in the lubricant and too much load, bearing damage, insufficient clearance and high temperature friction caused by the oil seal. Therefore, it is necessary to continuously monitor the bearing temperature, whether measuring the bearing itself or other important parts. If operating conditions do not change, any temperature change may indicate a failure.

Second, the observation

If the bearing is well lubricated and properly blocked by debris and moisture, it means that the oil seal should not be worn. However, when opening the bearing box, visually inspect the bearing and periodically check the oil seal, and check the condition of the oil seal near the bearing to ensure that they are sufficient to prevent hot or corrosive liquids or gases from penetrating into the bearing along the shaft. Guard rings and labyrinthian oil seals should be greased to ensure protection. If the oil seal is worn, it should be replaced as soon as possible. In addition to the function of the oil seal to prevent the tape cartridge from entering the bearing, another function is to retain the lubricant in the bearing box. If the oil seal leaks, check immediately for wear or damage or for loose plug. Oil leakage can also be caused by loosening of the bearing box joint surface, or by agitation and oil leakage caused by too much lubricant. Check the automatic lubrication system to ensure the correct amount is added and check the lubricant for discoloration or blackening. If this happens, it usually means there is a paper box in the lubricant.

The above two points are all the contents of the inspection measures in the operation of self-lubricating bearings. Thank you for your understanding and support!
